A new
face emerged in victory lane in the Pat's Auto Sales Street Stocks, as second
year driver, Derek O'Donnell scored an emotional career first win. This was no
easy task, as he was dogged to the stripe by Jake McDowell, Ryan Delabruere,
Michael Smith and Bill Stebbins Jr.. Michael McGee and McDowell won their
respective qualifiers, and Michael Moore won the Optical Expressions mid-race
bonus.
Jennie Dion picked up win
number four on the season in the Coca-Cola Riverside Angels main event.
Allison Brown got slowed in traffic and settled for 2nd. Young Miranda
Gervais had a career best 3rd place finish. Lindsey Rexford and Heather
Hodge rounded out the top five.
The Wildman Auto Daredevils
had their usual pair of feature events, and they thrilled the crowd once
again, with some outstanding racing. Walter Bandy made an impressive run
from the rear of the field in the Novice main. He was followed by Ciara
McCoy, Riley Hartshorn, Tori Delabruere and Brett Gervais. Shawn Swallow
broke through traffic early on in the Masters race and cruised to victory
over Sami Gooden, Brandon Lambert, Alex Theroux and Jesse Switser.
For the first time in six
races in the Jiffy Mart Cyclones, there was a repeat winner. Todd Kenison
sloshed by Jeff Ainsworth at the finish line to pick up his 2nd win of the
season. Ainsworth and Tyler Therrien were hooked up in a great battle when
the skies opened up around lap 60. Ainsworth trudged on while Therrien
slipped back in the pack. Kenison caught Ainsworth in heavy traffic and they
both crossed the line side by side with Kenison getting the nod. Paul Hodge
was credited with 3rd, Dana Cota 4th and Pete Gilcris grabbed 5th.
Charlie Lima and David Fish
won their respective S.T.A.R., Senior Tour Auto Racers features.
