MARSHALL AND O'DONNELL
PICK UP WINS AT RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY
 
 
    A beautiful night for racing turned into a heavy downpour Saturday night at the P.A.S.S. sanctioned, Riverside Speedway in Groveton, New Hampshire, but that didn't dampen the spirits of the large crowd in attendance for Jiffy Mart night at the races. The rains held off til just past the mid-way point of the Jiffy Mart Cyclones 100 lap main event. Winners on the night included Jeff Marshall, Derek O'Donnell, Jennie Dion, Walter Bandy, Shawn Swallow, Todd Kenison, David Fish and Charlie Lima.
 
    With the Currier RV Late Models having the night off, The Budweiser Super Stocks took center stage. Jeff Marshall made his return to Riverside a triumphant one, as he held off Willie Holbrook and Reggie Theroux over the final 20 laps to pick up his first win in several seasons. Dan Sidney placed 4th, while Jeremy Lacoss completed the top five. Shawn Hood and Holbrook carried the qualifier checkers, while Jeff Marshall won the Optical Expressions mid-race bonus.
 
    A new face emerged in victory lane in the Pat's Auto Sales Street Stocks, as second year driver, Derek O'Donnell scored an emotional career first win. This was no easy task, as he was dogged to the stripe by Jake McDowell, Ryan Delabruere, Michael Smith and Bill Stebbins Jr.. Michael McGee and McDowell won their respective qualifiers, and Michael Moore won the Optical Expressions mid-race bonus.
 
    Jennie Dion picked up win number four on the season in the Coca-Cola Riverside Angels main event. Allison Brown got slowed in traffic and settled for 2nd. Young Miranda Gervais had a career best 3rd place finish. Lindsey Rexford and Heather Hodge rounded out the top five.
 
    The Wildman Auto Daredevils had their usual pair of feature events, and they thrilled the crowd once again, with some outstanding racing. Walter Bandy made an impressive run from the rear of the field in the Novice main. He was followed by Ciara McCoy, Riley Hartshorn, Tori Delabruere and Brett Gervais. Shawn Swallow broke through traffic early on in the Masters race and cruised to victory over Sami Gooden, Brandon Lambert, Alex Theroux and Jesse Switser.
 
    For the first time in six races in the Jiffy Mart Cyclones, there was a repeat winner. Todd Kenison sloshed by Jeff Ainsworth at the finish line to pick up his 2nd win of the season. Ainsworth and Tyler Therrien were hooked up in a great battle when the skies opened up around lap 60. Ainsworth trudged on while Therrien slipped back in the pack. Kenison caught Ainsworth in heavy traffic and they both crossed the line side by side with Kenison getting the nod. Paul Hodge was credited with 3rd, Dana Cota 4th and Pete Gilcris grabbed 5th.
 
    Charlie Lima and David Fish won their respective S.T.A.R., Senior Tour Auto Racers features.
 
    It's a huge doubleheader weekend this Friday and Saturday night, as P.A.S.S. and Riverside Speedway proudly present Summerfest 2006. Monster Truck Mayhem invades Riverside Speedway for the first time in many years, as Eradicator and Backdraft are scheduled  to compete. Also on the card will be a 100 lap Street Stock extravaganza. Cars from Thunder Road and White Mountain Motorsports Park are expected to take on the Riverside Street Stocks in this giant $500 to win main event. Daredevil Youth Racers and Riverside Angels will complete Friday nights card. Post time is 7:30pm. The P.A.S.S. Outlaw Late models will make their first ever appearance at Riverside Speedway on Saturday night running a 100 lap main event. Joining them will be the P.A.S.S. Mods, North Country Dwarf Cars and the Riverside Cyclones will wrap up the night with a 100 lap event. Post time is 6pm. There will be plenty of free camping, and discount coupons for Saturday nights event are available throughout the area.
