RIVERSIDE
History will be made at Riverside Speedway in Groveton, New Hampshire
this coming Friday night, as the Sportsman Coupes from Bear Ridge Speedway in
Bradford, Vermont will make their first ever appearance on the asphalt at the
¼ speedway.
The Sportsman Coupes generally only race on the dirt, but have agreed
to making two appearances at
Riverside Speedway mentor, Dick Therrien is excited about this event.
He stated, “This an event that every race fan is going to want to see. They
put on a great show every week on the dirt, and I’m positive that they will
thrill the asphalt fans as well. We are expecting a solid field of cars since
it is a point counting event, and we are going to roll out the red carpet for
our friends from Bear Ridge. I want to personally thank C.V. Elms for sharing
these classic beauties with us, it’s going to be huge!”
Elms is also excited about the show, as he stated, “This will be a
great opportunity to showcase one of the top divisions in the Northeast to a
whole new population of race fans. It is a win, win situation for both tracks.
Dick and I go back a long ways, and he posted a solid purse for all the
drivers, and I know they are looking forward to coming to
Elms also will have a special interest in the event as he will be
behind the wheel of his own #6, Sportsman Coupe. Elms regularly competes in
his Dirt Modified on the CVRA circuit at Devils Bowl
