FROM
THE DESK OF THE GENERAL MANAGER
THIS

RIVERSIDE
SPEEDWAY OFFICE CLOSED FOR VACATION
Riverside Speedway offices will be closed from 4pm on March 28th til
8am on April 10th. We will be on vacation and nobody will be available to take
your calls. ALL tech questions are to be forwarded to Micky Miller
at exidesportsman@aol.com.
You may still call the track at either 802-626-9617 or 603-636-2005. No
messages will be returned until I return on April 10, 2007. If there is an
emergency, leave me a message that it is an emergency, and I will return your
call as soon as I can. IT MUST BE A REAL EMERGENCY!!!! The
Riverside Speedway office will be open Monday through Friday beginning
Thursday, April 12, 2007.
GET
YOUR LICENSE NOW!!
Just a reminder that license fees go up April 1st, 2007.
License fees go from $75.00 to $85.00 for all LMS, Outlaw Sportsman, Super
Stocks and Street Stocks. All crew member licenses go from $55.00 to $65.00
after April 1st. Don’t be an April Fool, get those license forms
in ASAP. Dwarf Car, Cyclones, Angels and Daredevils remain the same at $35.00
for driver, but crew fees expand April 1st.
TRACK
SEEMS TO BE COMING ALONG NICELY
I went over to the track last week and it appears that the snow is
melting quite well. There are some areas that had significant drifting but I
would estimate just about a foot or so of snow left. With temps expected in
the fifty degree range for the next few days and some rain on the horizon,
look for the snow to drop fast. Hopefully we won’t have any flooding
problems.
SEVERAL
NEW FACES IN NEW POSITIONS AT RIVERSIDE FOR 2007
When you enter the Speedway in 2007, you will find some new faces and
some familiar faces employed in different positions. The scoring team will be
staying pretty much in tact for 2007. Valerie Carr will be returning as Head
Scorer. Her assistants will once again be Dawn Pelletier and Roxanne Hartlen.
Nelson Lord will once again be back behind the microphone, calling the races
each week. Unfortunately, his son, Keith Lord, who called the daredevils last
year won’t be returning to announce as he will be driving in the daredevils
himself in 2007. Look for Keith behind the wheel of car #68. You will once
again have the pleasant faces of our ladies in the pit registration booth. My
wife, Kelly Therrien, is in charge of Pit Registration and ticket sales. She
will once again be accompanied by Sue Wells, Dayna Therrien and Shauna
Whitcomb. Our Technical Inspectors will all be returning in 2007. Chief
Technical Inspector, Mickey
Miller will be returning with his fine assistants, Tim Bilodeau and Butch
Mitchell. Bob Wright will resume his duties as Pit Coordinator once again.
There will be a new face in the pit tower for the season, as Doug Farnsworth
will be the new Pit Steward and Handicapper, as Min Kennett will enjoy a nice
summer off with her family. Mike Rainville will also be taking the summer off,
at least a good part of it, as he also has some special plans this season. I
know we’ll see them several times this summer as they will fill in as
necessary, but we sure are going to miss them. Have fun you lucky pukes!!!
With Mike Rainville having the summer off, Shayne Carr will assume the
flagging duties. Shayne filled in last season on a few occasions and is
looking forward to the task again this year. Louise Cyr will once again return
to mange our concessions. She is rounding up her crew again. She and her
workers do a fantastic job supplying us with great food at affordable prices
each week. Melissa Keyser will return to the Track Photographer position in
2007. We are working on a new photo system that will allow you to pick out
your photos and print them right on the spot at the track. Dennis Bean will
return as Head of Track Maintenance and Track Videographer. Bean will be
opening up the facility as soon as weather allows. I am waiting on a few
decisions from people but most of the same crew will be back in 2007. I will
once again handle the Race Directing chores, and be the General Manager in my
spare time. I am hoping to have the office open at the track around April 10th.
At that point I will post on our website any and all job openings that will be
available at the track.
STREET
STOCK TIRES
Once again this year we will be allowing the Falken 60 series tire in
our Street Stock division. This is the only 60 series tire that will be
allowed. All other tire choices must conform to our Street Stock rulebook. I
am ordering these tires the week of April 16th. There is a form
available to order these tires on our website. The cost is $43 per tire, plus
$10 per tire shipping and handling and $5.00 per tire for shaving. I need a
check for $58.00 per tire before I order them for you. I must have your order
in hand by April 16th to be eligible for tires in this shipment.
Mail your completed forms and payment to me, Dick Therrien at P.O. Box
187, Lyndon, VT 05849. Last years tires may be used in this class but must be
stamped with a Riverside 2007 stamp. The fee for stamping those tires is
$5.00/tire. You may stamp as many old tires as you would like. ALL 60
SERIES TIRES MUST BE STAMPED WITH A RIVERSIDE STAMP!!!

SUNOCO
RACING FUEL
We will once again be running American racers at Riverside Speedway,
and we will be selling Sunoco Race Fuel. The price for our new LMS and Outlaw

to the drivers point fund. All tires must be purchased new at the Speedway
this season, however, you may practice on your old tires anytime you like.
Only new tires are allowed in actual race competition. The Super Stock tires
will cost $104.00 this season with $3.00 from every tire purchase going to the
drivers point fund. Super Stock drivers may grandfather up to three tires from
last year. These tires must be stamped with a 2007 Riverside Speedway stamp.
Grandfathered tires will be stamped for a fee of $15.00 per tire. I am waiting
on the cost for Sunoco racing fuel. I will be selling it by the drum and by
the gallon. A drum of fuel will cost $6.65/gallon or $363.00 plus a
$25 barrell fee which is refunded when returned. Racing fuel will be selling
for $6.90 a gallon at the track. RESERVE YOUR DRUMS OF FUEL NOW!!! I AM

Bend RV of East St. Johnsbury, Vermont is the new Street Stock sponsor.

VITAMINWATER
TO REPLACE POWERADE AT RIVERSIDE
There is an awesome new change coming to Riverside Speedway in 2007.
This change is in the form of a relatively new, natural, low calorie drink
that helps replenish the nutrients and electrolytes that everyday people and
athletes will use in the course of a day. I am proud to introduce VITAMINWATER
as the new kid in town. Thanks to a great relationship with our friends at
Budweiser and White Mountain Distributors in Berlin, New Hampshire,
VITAMINWATER will be gracing our shelves in numerous, delicious flavors and
replacing Powerade. VITAMINWATER
is taking the country by storm, and all indications from people that I have
talked to are nothing but positive excitement. Welcome aboard VITAMINWATER!!!
You can find VITAMINWATER at all local mini-marts and grocery stores, or where
ever your favorite beverages are sold. Let me know what your favorite flavors
are as we will be trying different ones to see which will be the best sellers.
I
AM LOOKING FOR A POWER SWEEPER
I am looking for a power sweeper to beg, borrow or steal for use at the track
this season. We spend a ton of time sweeping and blowing the track each week,
a power sweeper would greatly help. If you have one, please contact me at
either 603-636-2005 or 802-626-9617, or e-mail me at dprdick@charter.net.
Thanks!
BARNIE'S
MARKET SPONSORS SUPER FAN CARD
Barnie's Market, Main Street in Concord, Vermont has signed on to be the
sponsor of the all new Super Fan Card. The Super Fan Card will give race fans
a free adult admission ticket after they have attended ten races and
accumulated ten punches on their card. After a person has ten punches on their
card, they will receive a discount coupon each week for a special savings on
concessions and souvenir items. Barnie's Market will also give a 10% discount
on all deli purchases including pizza, subs, sandwiches, salads, and lunch
specials, as well as all homemade breads and pastries. All you have to do is
present your Super Fan Card to the Barnie's Market cashier, and you will
receive your 10% discount.
GOOD,
CLEAN REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZER WANTED
I am looking for two or three good, clean refrigerators, and one good
upright or chest freezer, preferably a chest freezer for the race track
concession stands. NO JUNK PLEASE!! Call and leave message at
603-636-2005 or 802-626-9617, or e-mail me at dprdick@charter.net.
That’s all for this time. Pray for sunshine, warm temperatures and
very little rain until the snow is all melted. Remember, my office will be
closed from March 28 til April 10th.
