RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY’S NAPA / EASTMAN TROPHY

CAR SHOW KICKS OFF 2007 SEASON

The 2007 racing season got underway this past Saturday at Riverside Speedway in Groveton, New Hampshire, as beautiful weather greeted the large crowd that came to see their favorite drivers unveil their paint schemes for the upcoming season, and shake down their racecars. Sixty five racecars rolled through the pit gates for the non-point counting show. With the registration of several new teams, the total of licensed drivers has swelled to over one hundred and thirty.

The new season brought out some tremendous craftsmanship by the teams, as the judges were forced to go back and review their decisions on several cars, due to the fact that several ties had to be broken. One tie that didn’t have to be broken was the Best of Show Award. This honor went to the group of family and friends that built the Jake McDowell Memorial Show Car. McDowell, whom lost his life in a senseless tragedy in January, will long be remembered, as this car will be on display weekly at the track.
