To members of the Riverside Speedway family,

    It is with deepest regret that I inform you of a major tragedy and loss to the Riverside Speedway racing family. 2006 Pat's Auto Sales Street Stock runner-up, Jake McDowell was shot and killed last night in a tragic incident in Sutton, Vermont. Details are very sketchy at this point.

    Jake was a tremendous asset to Riverside Speedway, and was looking forward to making an all out assault on the 2007 title. Jake was a great friend to so many of us, and his infectious smile will long be etched in my heart.
