Riverside Speedway and David’s House will be
teaming up for a very unique and special racing and fundraising weekend,
August 17th, 18th and 19th, at the
Northern New Hampshire
race track in Groveton.
David’s House is located in Lebanon, New Hampshire, near the
Dartmouth-Hitchcock
Medical
Center
. David’s House provides a home away
from home, for families with children being treated through CHAD, Children’s
Hospital at
Dartmouth-Hitchcock
Medical
Center
. David’s House provides space for
families to be together, and is complete with bedrooms, bathrooms, books,
toys, television and more. Their fully equipped kitchens allow guests to
prepare their own meals. This wonderful service has a suggested fee of $10.00
per night, but arrangements may be made for those guests unable to pay the

Track promoter, Dick Therrien has put together a three day weekend full
of great racing and fund raising activities. On Friday night the P.A.S.S.
Outlaw Late Models will be in town plus the P.A.S.S. Mods, Super Stocks and
Street Stocks. Post time is
7:45pm
. Saturday night is Wildman Auto
Daredevil and David’s House Night, which will feature kiddee race car rides,
and a huge Wildman Auto Daredevil Stunt Show, plus Outlaw Sportsman, Dwarf
Cars, Angels, Daredevils, and Cyclones. All drivers and fans will be
encouraged to bring canned goods, paper products and non-perishable items to
donate to David’s House. The race drivers will also be going through the
grandstands, passing the helmets to raise funds for David’s House.
Then on Sunday, the second annual David’s House / Riverside Speedway
Point Fund, Walk-A-Thon will be held. Race teams and race fans will be
collecting pledges from their communities. 50% of all monies will be donated
to David’s House, and the other 50% will be placed in the
Riverside
Speedway
point fund that will be distributed
to the race teams at the season ending awards banquet. The Walk-A-Thon will
begin at
10:30am
and will travel down
Brown Road
, and finish up on the
Speedway
.
Then, at
1pm
, it will be the 2nd annual
25 Lap, Human Enduro. This race will feature $200 to win, $100 for 2nd
and $50 for 3rd place prizes. All contestants must walk the 25
laps, with absolutely NO jogging or running. Any of either will be an
automatic disqualification. The fee to enter the Human Enduro is just $35, and
all proceeds will once again be split between David’s House and the
Riverside
Speedway
point fund. Both events are open to
the public.
