RUSSELL CLARK NIPS COREY MASON

FOR LMS WIN AT RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY

It was another great night of racing at the P.A.S.S. sanctioned Riverside Speedway in Groveton , New Hampshire , as well over one hundred cars packed the pit area, and another huge crowd enjoyed a great night of racing at the Northern New Hampshire speedplant. Winners on the night included Russell Clark, Luke Shannon, Ryan Heuser, Vanessa Brown, Cody Hodge, Tyler Leighton, Charlie Rockwell, and Andy Simpson.

In a near photo finish in the Gilmour Jeep / Ford / Dodge Late Model, Russell Clark edged out point leader, Corey Mason at the stripe to pick up his first win of the season. The pair raced side by side over the final nine laps, with Clark nipping Mason by a mere four feet at the finish. Right on their rear bumper was Bryan Mason. Grant Folsom and Howard Switser placed 4th and 5th respectively. Floyd Bennett Jr., Brooks Clark and Mike Kenison won their preliminary rounds.

Luke Shannon extended his points lead in the Budweiser Super Stocks as he rolled to another win over Brian Gosselin, Jeff Fysh, Brian Middleton and James Lambert. Gosselin and Denny Degreenia and David Ofsuryk Jr. won their respective heats.

Ryan Heuser collected his career first victory in the River Bend RV Street Stocks as he ran away and hid from the field. Heuser was followed by Troy Randall, Alex Theroux, Michael Smith and Tyler Therrien. Therrien and Heuser won the qualifying races.

Rookie, Vanessa Brown, won her second Leo Enos Angels feature, as she survived a pair of red flags and numerous cautions along the way. Point leader, Traci Nelson raced home second, followed by Shirley Ward, Kate Demar and Jen Terrill. Demar ended up on her side over the top of turn one after the checkers flew, as three cars got together at the finish line, and Demars flipped her machine onto her side. She wasn’t injured.

The Wildman Auto Daredevils once again thrilled the crowd as both of last week’s winners repeated the feat. Tyler Leighton won the rookie division over Kristopher Russell, Brendon Hunt, Andrew Fecteau and Randy Whittum. Cody Hodge prevailed again in the veterans class as he bested Jesse Switser, Dilyn Switser, Brandon Lambert and Kyle Pembroke.

Charlie Rockwell was victorious in the Jiffy Mart Cyclones, as he took a hard fought victory over Jeff Ainsworth. The pair battled hard over the final fifty laps with Rockwell coming out on top. Scott Marshall, Shaun Stetson and Andy Simpson completed the top five.

In the Battle of the Sexes II, Angels vs Cyclones, it was Andy Simspon leading the way, with Jeff Ainsworth, Aric Cole, Scott Marshall and Allison Brown rounding out the top five.

Riverside Speedway will be back in action this coming Saturday night as Gilmour Ford presents the night at the races. The Late Models will run a 75 lap main event.
