Nate Spaulding Dies At Age 40

EAST HARDWICK – Nathan George "Nate" Spaulding, 40, of East
Hardwick, died unexpectedly Friday Jan. 27, 2006, at the Copley Hospital in
Morrisville.
He was born July 9, 1965 in Morrisville. The son of Norman and Doris (Carpentier)
Spaulding. He attended Peoples Academy in Morrisville.
He was first employed as a farmhand at several farms in Morrisville. He worked
for 10 years for Miller Egg Farm in Morrisville; Topnotch in Stowe for 3 years,
and for more than 11 years he was employed as an auto mechanic at Craftsbury
Garage. He recently was a heavy equipment mechanic for Tibbits Equipment in
Underhill.
He enjoyed the time that he spent with his family, grandchildren, hunting,
fishing, and racing.
Survivors include his parents: Doris and Norman Spaulding of Hyde Park; his long
time companion, Barbara Keene of East Hardwick, and her children, Kory Keene and
his wife Terra of Hyde Park, and Kevin Keene and his fiancée, Brandy, of
Wolcott; two brothers, Ernest Spaulding of Williamstown, Edward Spaulding and
his wife Nancy of Eden; a sister, Nichole Spaulding and her companion, Brian
Vincent, of Newport; four grandchildren, Taylor Keene of Wolcott, Tanner Keene,
Jacob Keene and Ariana Keene all of Hyde Park; nieces and nephews, Stephanie
Spaulding, Stacey Spaulding, Leslie Ann Spaulding, step-niece Samantha Parker,
and step-nephew Joshua Parker, all of Eden, Shanelle Roze Farnham of Newport,
Deirdre Gaye and great niece, Isatou, both of Mukilteo, Washington, as well as
many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening 7-9 p.m. at the Northern Vermont
Funeral Home, 60 Elm Street, Hardwick. A brief prayer service will be held at
8:30 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 at 1 p.m. at St.
Norbert's Church in Hardwick.

Nate died of an apparent heart attack, pending results from an autopsy. Nate was an avid racer at Thunder Road, Barre, Vermont, and Riverside Speedway, Groveton, NH
