BEAR RIDGE COUPES TO MAKE TWIN STATE SERIES HISTORY
RUNNING A PAIR OF EVENTS AT RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY

 1/19/06

A historical agreement has been reached between Bear Ridge Speedway owner, C.V. Elms, and Riverside Speedway mentor Dick Therrien. For the first time in the history of the Bear Ridge Speedway Sportsman Coupes Twin State Series, sponsored by Lavalley Building Supply, two point counting events will be held on the pavement at Riverside Speedway in Groveton, New Hampshire. The sleek Gilmour Ford Sportsman Coupes, which generally only run their series on the dirt, will now run these special events on Friday night, July 14th, and again on Friday night, September 15th.

"These are going to be awesome events for our pavement fans to see these cars fly around our 1/4 mile track" stated Therrien. "Our longtime fans remember the great times when the coupes ran back in the good old days at Riverside Speedway. Now they are going to get to see them twice, and best of all in point counting races. This won't be just an exhibition event, this will be racing towards their championship point battles. What else is so exciting is the fact that many of our younger fans have never had the opportunity to see these cars race, and I guarantee you, they will be in for a treat, and will definately become hooked on these awesome racecars!"

Bear Ridge owner, C.V. Elms is equally excited. "This is a great opportunity to showcase this division to a lot of new fans. We had the nights off on our schedule, so Dick and I brainstormed about this and came up with plan that we feel will be great for the drivers and the fans. The Gilmour Ford Sportsman Coupes will run qualifying heats and a forty lap feature. The drivers are excited about this twist and are looking forward to exciting the crowd. This will also be great way to showcase our new Twin State Series sponsor, Lavalley Building Supply.

The two tracks are also looking at forming a special two race, Twin State Series for the Cyclones / Ridgerunner Hornets on the dirt at Bear Ridge. The events will take place on Saturday, July 15th, and Saturday, September 16th. The two events will have a special purse and point fund.
