FROM THE DESK OF THE GENERAL MANAGER
THIS IS ANOTHER RIVERSIDE RUMBLINGS

 3-5-06

Welcome to another edition of Riverside Rumblings. I have returned from my month long stay in Florida, and I am ready to roll. The office is now open basically seven days a week. I can be reached at either 603-636-2005 or 802-626-9617, or e-mail me at dprdick@charter.net. All technical questions go to Mickey Miller at exidesportsman@aol.com.

In the Riverside Speedway news department, upon my return, I opened up the Caledonian Record and found that legndary Riverside Speedway announcer and historian, Jim Clothey, had passed away. Jim had been in failing health the past year or so, but he still trudged on, doing his radio gig in Littleton and working with his wife in her Littleton store. He will surely be missed. For those who remember, Clothey was the voice of Riverside for many years under the Mike Beattie regime. Jim's deep voice would be heard every Saturday night over the public address system rambling on about all the night's activities, human interest stories and great humor about the race teams. He was so well respected by the teams and the fans alike. Jim moved on to a life in radio the past few years, and slipped away from the racing scene, but we will always remember him as another true legend of Riverside Speedway. Jim, may you rest in peace.

We will have a new flagger for 2006. Gordon Brown has decided to take a year off to do the family thing, and Mike Rainville will be stepping into the starters stand to take his place. Mike has filled in many a time in the past few seasons and does a tremendous job. He comes from a great line of flaggers as it's in the families blood. He is the grandson of Pete Marshall, whom is a legend on the flagstand here at Riverside Speedway. Basically all other key employees will return in 2006.
