RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY INCREASES PURSES FOR 2006

A major announcement has been made by new Riverside Speedway track manager, Dick Therrien, an announcement that is sure to please the regular divisions as well as the Cyclones (four cylinder enduro cars) for the 2006 racing season.

"I am pleased to announce that we will be raising the winners share of the purse in the Late Models, Super Stocks and Street Stocks for 2006, stated Therrien. We also will be expanding the number of places that we pay in our Cyclone class."

"Our Late Models have a new sponsor for 2006, as Currier RV will be that divisions headliner. With the addition of this sponsor comes a bonus of $100 to the winners share. That means a Late Model feature winner at Riverside Speedway will now take home $700 for the victory. This is the biggest payoff for Late Models in the area. With the large number of early entries, we have been able to make this positive increase for our race teams. Last year we revamped the entire purse, and now in part to a very successful marketing plan, we will bump up the winners share another $100. Our Late Model purse will continue to pay a $100 minimum for taking the green flag in the main event. We have a great field of Late Models and we want to continue to show our commitment to this fine group of drivers!"

There is also good news for the Budweiser Super Stocks and the Pat's Auto Sales Street Stocks. The winner in each of the divisions will see an increase $50 and $25 respectively. There seems to be a lot of new interest in the Super Stocks this season, and we want to show them our support. The $50 increase will certainly help these drivers, and will continue to benefit this highly competitive field. The $25 increase in the winners purse will make this the highest paying four cylinder class in the region. The winner will now take home $150 each week. This is a nice chunk of change, considering that these cars run on street tires, not a mandated track tire. There is significant growth as well in our Street Stocks, and we have a bundle of youngsters ready to take on the Street Stock veterans.

The Cyclone division has always paid the first five positions. In 2006, the Cyclones will pay the top ten finishers in each regular points race. Positions six through ten will now each be paid $20. With the cost of gasoline and towing to the track, I felt that this would be a welcome addition to a great class.

Riverside Speedway has a tentative schedule posted on their website. This schedule will be updated in the next few days as more sponsorship packages get finalized.
