The Riverside Speedway office will be closed February 10th through March 5th. I will be checking in for messages and mail will be accepted as usual.

We are off at running here at Riverside Speedway in Groveton. The rules have been completed and are now posted on the web for everyone to download. Hard copies will be sent to all teams that competed at Riverside in 2005.

Not a bunch of rule changes took place at what I call very successful rules meetings held January 15th. Most of the changes took place in the Super Stock class where several exciting changes have taken place, all at minimal expenses to the race teams. Any type of spring will be allowed, plus spring rubbers. Rearends can now be locked and aftermarket axles can now be used on both sides. The Super Stocks will now be only able to purchase tires from Riverside Speedway. However, each team that competed at Riverside in 2005, may grandfather three tires out of their current inventory to use in 2006 for just $20.00 per tire.

The only significant changes in the Late Models will be the fact they they will run on new tires only in 2006. No used tires will be permitted. Each team may purchase 8 new tires prior to the season opener. Any team that competes opening night will have until the second LMS race to purchase up to the eight tires. After week two, they may not purchase any un-bought tires from the original. LMS teams that start after the first week may purchase 6 tires. LMS teams will be able to purchase one new tire every other week. If they miss that week, they must wait for the next purchase rotation night.

The main rule change in the Street Stock is the fact that they will be able to shave their tires in 2006. This should significantly cut down on the number of blistered tires teams were encountering. Several new faces were in attendance for the Street Stock meeting.

License applications are now available. LMS, Super Stocks, and Street Stock licenses are available for just $75.00 until 4/1/06. After 4/1/06 the fee becomes $85.00. This year all crew members are required to have licenses. Crew licenses are $55.00 until 4/1/06, and $65.00 if purchased after.

All Cyclones, Angels and Youth Racers are required to have licenses this year. The fee is $35.00. The pit fees this year are $20 / with license, $30 without license. It will be a significant savings for each crew member to have a license as it will save you $10/event.

Below is a sneak peak at our 2006 Riverside Speedway Schedule. It still has some tweaking to be done, but this is pretty much what we are looking at for this year. It is an intense schedule, but one that should meet all the racers needs. There are 9 LMS races, 12 Super Stocks, 14 Street Stock, 9 Angels, 10 Daredevils and 12 Cyclone races, 11 point counting events. This is all tentative and may be subject to change. We will be running a Sunday raindate in 2006. If it rains on Saturday event and forces postponements, the event will be held on Sunday at 1:30pm.
