FROM THE DESK OF THE GENERAL MANAGER
THIS IS ANOTHER RIVERSIDE RUMBLINGS

11.19.06

Welcome to this edition of Riverside Rumblings. We are heading into the holiday season, as Christmas and 2007 are quickly approaching. It is hard to believe how quickly time flies. There just isn't enough hours in a day anymore.

There will be a benefit TEXAS HOLD'EM POKER TOURNAMENT, on Saturday, December 9th at the American Legion Post, Route 5, Lyndon, Vermont. The benefit is to help raise funds for Eloise and Ron Watson, as Eloise is courageously battling cancer. Ron, whom drives the #18 Super Stock at Riverside Speedway, is a great friend to the track and to many in the pits. Please come out and support this event. $20 satellites start at 11am. The top 2 from each table earn their entry fee to the tournament. Tournament begins at 3pm. For more info, contact Valerie Carr, 603-788-4055.

The rules meetings went very well. We are in the process of having all the rules fine tuned and posted by December 5th at the latest. I am very excited about the anticipated growth for Riverside in 2007. Our Late Model class appears to be flourishing, as no less than six new teams have made their intentions known for 2007. The brand new Outlaw Sportsman class looks strong. Their 2007 rules and purse is posted on our website. There is still room for tweaking them. The Street Stocks are looking at a giant rookie class of young guns, and the Angels are looking to grow in 2007. All in all, I'm very excited about next season.

The track is all buttoned up for the winter, but it may not be closed until spring. There is a good chance that there will be snowmobile races and a radar run in January at Riverside Speedway. This will be announced in the near future. If the idea comes true, there is a good chance that we will run the 1st ever Hungover 100 enduro, on New Years Day. This race will be for four, six, and eight cylinder cars, trucks and vans. More on this in the very near future.

The Annual Banquet of Champions is a complete sellout. NO tickets are left. Remember, you must bring your tickets to the banquet. ABSOLUTELY NO hats, t-shirts or blue jeans will be allowed in the door. This will be the first time in many years that alcohol will be sold at a banquet, and we will be having a DJ for entertainment. Everyone will be expected to be on their best behavior. Anyone becoming intoxicated will be removed from the premises by the local police. I don't anticipate any problems. Something new this year at the banquet. You can buy that night's picture on the spot. We have purchased equipment that will print the pictures that night, and you can take them home with you banquet night. Hopefully if this works out, we will use it next season for all picture sales.

2007 licenses will go on sale on Monday, December 4th. Last years numbers will be held until January 31st, 2007. After that, numbers will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Any number not taken last year will be given out immediately for 2007. New license registration forms will be available to download on December 4th from our website.

Northern Performance can help you with your Christmas list. We can order you racing suits, gloves, neck braces, belts, window nets and a whole lot more. Call the track at 603-636-2005 or call Dick Therrien at 802-626-9617.

    See you at the banquet!
