Trevor Roy Earns Feature win on Bond Auto Parts Make A Wish Night

Twisted Tea Dwarf Car driver Trevor Roy powered his way to the lead early and then held off point leader Howard Switser, earning his first feature win of the year. Other feature winners on the night included Jared Plumley, Randy Whittum, Lyndsey Christman, Joanna Christman, and Bryan Mason. The 50 lap $500 to win Bond Auto Parts Triple Crown street stock race was rained out and will be made up on Saturday August 28th as the opening race of the evening.

The first hour of the night was spent trying to keep a racing surface in tact. Mother nature was at work keeping the Riverside safety crews busy. After an hour of track drying, the night was under way and the fans were treated to some of the best racing of the season.

The first feature was the Sign Depot Daredevil rookie division. The #12 of Jared Plumley led his group to the green flag and never looked back. Anthony Lacoss of Lyndonville finished in the runner-up spot with Stark’s Jenna Randall in third.

The Caron Building Center Veterans ran their feature caution free. Randy Whittum returned to the driver’s seat in successful fashion. The veteran racer held off the strong challenge from runner-up Aaron Poulin for the win. Berlin’s Sierra Sanschagrin raced home third.

The Isaacson Structural Steel Angels saw pole sitter Tina Leveille have her best run of the season. Leveille led for the first eight circuits in her new Chevy ride and ended the event in eighth overall. Point leader Lyndsey Christman got to the lead by the midpoint of the race and went on to the victory. Berlin’s Cynthia Litvin continues her strong season, taking home the runner-up spot. Youngster Desirae Sicard made a final turn pass to take home the third position. Shawna Whitcomb and Traci Nelson took home the qualifying wins.

The Twisted Tea Dwarf cars had just one stoppage during their feature. Trevor Roy worked his way to the front from his fifth place starting position and then held off the repeated challenges of point leader Howard Switser to take the popular victory. Make A Wish youngster Julia Gray had an evening to remember. Roy brought his trophy over to Gray and gave it to her. Gray loved Roy’s purple Dwarf Car and now has a trophy to remember her night at the race track. Switser raced home second and Eric Corum third. Bobby Riley and Dennis O’Brien rounded out the top five.  Heat wins went to Kevin Scott Hockman and Riley.

Rookie Super Stock driver Joanna Christman put last week’s blown motor behind her and came to the speedway with a new power plant under the hood. Christman had her pink and green machine dialed by feature time, driving to her very first feature win in the Supers. Shawn Hood rolled into the runner-up spot and popular youngster Nick Gilcris took the third spot. Christman made it a perfect night winning the qualifying race.

The North Country Ford Late Models were coming off their biggest event of the year from the previous weekend. The great racing continued with point leader Bryan Mason working through the field from his tenth starting spot to capture another feature victory. A shuffling of the finishing order occurred after post race technical inspection revealed a mishap with a pair of tire slips. That enabled Colebrook’s Brandon Lambert to finish in the runner-up spot and first timer Pete Fecteau to take home the third spot. Gorham’s Cody LeBlanc went fourth in his #7 machine and Webster’s Matt Pepin raced home fifth. Heat wins went to Cody Hodge and Pepin.
