July 7, 2010 Canaan Fair Speedway’s, Chief Technical Inspector, Charlie Rockwell was severely injured in an accident in his garage on Tuesday night, July 6th. Rockwell received second and third degree burns on his hand and legs as he was trying to start an engine in a car. The engine backfired and spewed gas on him, and was ignited by the spark from the carburetor. “I have talked with his wife Jamie, and she says that he is in a lot of pain, but his spirits are good. He is getting great care and he will be having skin grafts on Friday. He possibly may be leaving the hospital next week,” stated track General Manager, Dick Therrien.
