WMMP, Lee USA, and Canaan Fair Speedways to Host qualifiers for Riverside’s “Clash of the Titans”

Four lucky race car drivers will earn their starting spot in Riverside Speedway’s Clash of the Titans on Sunday August 15th, using guaranteed qualifying races held at White Mountain Motorsports Park, Lee USA Speedway, Canaan Fair Speedway, and Riverside Speedway.

The qualifying date has been set for Canaan on Saturday June 12th and on Saturday August 7th for Riverside Speedway. The dates for WMMP and Lee USA will be announced shortly.

Those tracks holding the qualifying events will be given a $100 bonus and a plaque to the winner on their respective night.

Last year’s “Clash” quickly became known as one of the most thrilling late model races of the summer. Lee USA speedway regular Wayne Helliwell Jr. survived and battled door to door for 150 laps with ACT tour regular Randy Potter, and WMMP’s Quinney Welch in 90 plus degree temperatures, taking home the $5000 first place prize money.

“We had a successful 2009 event,” said Riverside GM Jean LeBlanc. “Now we will just keep trying to make it better and better each year. We will hold a practice for our competitors on Saturday night. We will then have the drivers in attendance make a run at the pole starting position by running two lap time trials. That will give us five definite starters for the 28 car field.”

Also on hand on that Sunday will be the P.A.S.S. Sportsman and P.A.S.S. Mods, running their respective feature events. Riverside Speedway has changed their Mason Enterprises Outlaw/Sportsman division to come in line with the P.A.S.S. rules. That will give the Riverside regulars a chance to compete for a longer distance and a greater purse. The Jiffy Mart Cyclones and the Sign Depot Tornado Mini-Trucks will also be on hand.

Riverside Speedway is a P.A.S.S. sanctioned track, located off of Brown Road in Groveton, NH. At Riverside Speedway, we’re just a notch above the rest.
