The rain stayed away long enough to get in all of the Championship events at
Riverside Speedway, a PASS sanctioned track. The Late Model points battle
came down to this final event with Mike Kenison leading Brian Mason by 4
points. Kenison had a bad night, spinning early, and cutting down a tire
allowing Mason to capture the championship.

The Late Models started the activities off, with Gene Leblanc on the pole,
and Jeremy Lacoss outside. Lacoss took the lead. On lap 3 Pete Gilcris car
just seems to shut down. On lap 12 Mike Kenison spun on the backstretch into
the infield. Paul Schartner took the restart. On lap 13, Corey Mason moved
to 2nd. Grant Folsom spun on the backstretch on lap 17. Lacoss took this
restart, but Schartner pulled out front. On lap 20 Corey Mason moved to 2nd,
and Russ Clark overtook 3rd. Clark overtook 2nd on lap 27. On lap 31,
Kenison moved back into 3rd place. Clark took the lead on lap 40. On lap 47,
Brian Mason overtook 3rd. Nate Brown spins on lap 53. Clark takes the lead,
as Kenison slows back with a cut tire. On lap 58 Lacoss, Brown, and Floyd
Bennett all spin in turn 3. They go three wide on the restart, with Kenison,
Lacoss, and Bennett all getting together into the front stretch wall. Clark
takes the restart and the win,
followed by Schartner and Brian Mason.

The Angels were up next. Jen Terrill started on the pole, with Linda Ball
outside. Terrill took the lead. Traci Nelson moved to 2nd on lap 2. Johanna
Christman moved to 3rd on lap 3, 2nd on lap 5, and took the lead on lap 7.
On lap 10 Mary Eastman overtook 3rd, then 2nd. Eastman and Lyndsay Christman
touch on lap15, but recover. Nelson regains 3rd on lap 19, but Lyndsay
Christman overtakes on 24. Lyndsay overtakes 2nd on lap 32. On lap 35 Nelson
comes from out of nowhere to overtake 2nd then take the lead. Nelson takes
the win, followed by Johanna Christman, and her daughter Lyndsay Christman.
Johanna takes the track championship.

The Dwarf Cars were up next. Ciara McCoy started on the pole, with Dave
Gyger outside. Gyger took the lead as Toby Merchant moved to 2nd, and Dana
Huoppi to 3rd. Ernie Laplant overtook 3rd, by the end of lap 1, and overtook
2nd on lap 3. On lap 13, Anthony Young spins in turn 1. Gyger takes the
restart, and then Laplant moves to the lead. Eric Hall moves to 3rd on lap
14. Merchant and Hall got together on lap 15. Laplant takes the restart, and
the win, followed by Gyger and Hall. Hall is named the track champion.

The Daredevils were up next, with all of them running at the same time, but
being scored in their individual class. Nick Gilcris started on the pole,
with Ben Belanger outside. Belanger took the lead, then Gilcris moved up
front, and Randy Whittum moved to 3rd. Keith Lord moved to 3rd on lap 2.
Jesse Switser moved to 3rd on lap 3, then to 2nd on lap 9, and took the lead
on lap 10. Nick Gilcris took the win for the rookies, followed by Belanger,
Aaron Poulin, Kasey Degreenia, and Whittum. On the Veteran side, it was
Switser with the win, followed by Shauna Randall, Lord and Brandon Lambert.

The Street Stocks were up next, with probably the most uneventful race all
year. It was good racing, but not much changed up front. Kevin Whittum Jr.
stated o the pole, with Bill Stebbins Jr. outside. Whittum took the lead as
Tyler Therrien moved to 2nd, then the lead. Tyler gained a large lead and
sounded like he was on a Sunday drive letting off really early on the
corners. Therrien took the win, followed by Whittum and Stebbins. Michael
Smith was crowned track champion.

Dan Foss started things off for the Super Stocks on the pole, with Shawn
Hood outside. Foss took the initial lead, and then Hood took the lead, as
Jeff Fysh moved to 3rd. Fysh overtook 2nd on lap 2. On lap 3 Jason Kenison
moved to the 3rd spot. The caution flew on lap 7; I missed who spun on the
back stretch. They are even on the start, with Fysh coming out on top. On
lap 11, Jerrad Ledger and Luke Shannon get together, with Shannon cutting
down a right front tire. Fysh takes the restart. Kenison moves to 2nd, and
Nate Swallow moved to 3rd. On lap 13 Fysh shuts down, handing the lead to
Kenison, 2nd to Swallow, and 3rd to Matt Carbone. On lap 18 Shannon moves to
3rd, then overtakes 2nd on lap 21. Kenison spins on lap 22. Shannon takes
the restart, and Brian Gosselin moves to 2nd. Swallow regains 2nd on lap 24
as Gosselin slows and looses and axle. Shannon takes the restart. On lap 29,
Foss goes up in smoke. Shannon again
takes the restart. On lap 31, Carbone goes around. Shannon takes the
restart and the win, followed by Kenison and Swallow. Swallow is crowned
track champion.

The Cyclones were the final event of the day. I actually tried to keep
track, because my scanner died so I think I have everything right. Shawn
Swallow started on the pole, with Andy Simpson outside. Swallow took the
lead as his brother Jamie moved to 2nd and Cody Leblanc to 3rd. Jamie took
the lead on lap 2. On lap 10, Anthony Hill moved to 3rd, and overtook 2nd on
lap 12. Charlie Rockwell moved to 3rd on lap 15. By lap 25 Hill was at Jamie
Swallow Jr. The red flag flew on lap 27 for a car over turn 1, I missed the
number. Hill took the lead. On lap 54 Rockwell went over turn 1, but rolled
through returning to the track. The handling of the car could not have been
good, as his rear wheel was bent outward. Hill took the win followed by
Jamie Swallow Jr and Rockwell. Rockwell was crowned the Cyclone champion.
