The ultimate of all enduros, the 3rd ANNUAL FROSTBITE 250, plus championship events for the P.A.S.S. Sportsman and 4x4 Tug O’ War Series, will be taking place on Saturday, October 11th at 2pm, with a rain date of Sunday, October 12th. This giant 250 lap event will offer a guaranteed purse of $8,250, with the winner taking home a cool $5,000! If that isn’t enough, the runner-up spot will pay $1,500, and third spot will pay $750. Added to the card in 2008 will be two events, including the P.A.S.S. Sportsman 75 which will see local driver, Jonathan Ledger defend his home track against the invaders in their final event of the season. It will also feature the final event of the popular 4x4 Tug O’ War Series. This series features pickup trucks hooked together by a cable, tugging to see which one is toughest.
The FROSTBITE 250 has been shortened from 400 laps this year to 250 laps. This makes it much more appealing to the fans. The Frostbite 250 is open to any stock four or six cylinder, American or foreign, street car or mini-truck. No four-wheel drives will be allowed. All 6 cylinder cars must be front-wheel drives. The rules are very basic, straight forward enduro type rules.
“We are extremely excited about this event” stated Therrien. “We always like to wrap up our season with a giant show and this one will be the granddaddy of them all. We are continuing to put on some of the best racing in the Northeast, and this is going to be a great event for the race teams and my fans!” P.A.S.S. mentor, Tom Mayberry, feels the same way. “We have developed a special relationship with Dick and Riverside Speedway, he works extremely hard to promote this track, and we decided to hook up with him again and put together a tremendous season ending event. By adding the P.A.S.S. Sportsman Championship to the show, this should be the icing on the cake. A giant purse like this should attract entries from all over the Northeast and Canada.”
Post time for the FROSTBITE 250 will be 2pm, with the pit gates opening at 8am, and inspections starting at 9am. Numbers will be issued on a first come basis as the entries are received. Entries are now being accepted and an early entry discount is being offered. Early entry fee is $50.00 until September 22, 2008. After September 22nd, the entry fee goes to $75.00. Pit admission will be $25 for the day.
Rules and entry blanks can be found on the Riverside Speedway website, www.riversidespeedway.org, and on the P.A.S.S. website at www.proallstarsseries.com. For more information call Dick Therrien at Riverside Speedway, 603-636-2005. Riverside Speedway is located off Route 3, Brown Road in Groveton, New Hampshire.
